Amar grew up in Surrey, BC, and was fortunate to complete his physiotherapy education at one of the top schools in the world. He completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2018.  Prior to relocating to Australia, he attended Simon Fraser University where he successfully completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Amar grew up playing soccer at a competitive level, before switching to amateur boxing in his late teens, following a career ending hamstring injury.

Amar started his physiotherapy career in Vancouver,BC. He has been lucky to work along side and learn from some amazing practitioners in the sports physiotherapy field, and is excited to bring his skillset to Motus.

Amar has worked with numerous sports teams over the past few years competing in Australian Rules Football (AFL), soccer, and ice hockey. This has provided Amar with valuable hands-on experience in injury management and prevention at both the elite and recreational level.

Amar has a special interest in lower limb injuries, particularly ACL rehabilitation. He believes in injury prevention, which is achieved by combining strength exercises, quality exercise programming/load management, and biomechanical analysis. Amar utilizes a wide range of evidence-based manual techniques and exercise modalities to assist his clients in achieving their goals. He has also completed his Dry Needling certification through Acupuncture Canada.
